“We understand business really well,” shares Yasser Zaki, Global CEO of TLC Disability Services, “but to deliver the story-telling component, we had to find the right partners. That’s when we met Richard and the Helping Hands guys and it just connected that link for us.”
Yasser generously shared his praise for Helping Hands at our recent 100th episode celebration, held in March this year. It was an event that drew together Helping Hands partners, supporters and sponsors to celebrate all that Helping Hands has achieved across its first 100 episodes.
“How does a show like this draw such a broad cross-section of people who are all committed to doing good?” asked Richard Attieh, producer of Helping Hands, while speaking at the event. “It’s about purpose and impact … You don’t have to look too far to find people who will be allies in the cause if the cause is good and true.”
Helping Hands began a little over two years ago, borne of the desire to create an uplifting and empowering TV program showcasing the people and organisations who make the world a better place. Now, it’s become the only TV, online and education program dedicated to social good.
Representatives from partner organisations who have worked with Helping Hands gathered on the night and were keen to mingle and share the positive experiences that have meant the most to them, also expressing without hesitation, the excellent outcomes achieved for their organisations.
“It’s a great way for all organisations to open new opportunities,” says Mark Bennett, from Samaritan’s Purse. “It’s a wider audience than we might otherwise have the opportunity to reach.”
“For Campsie RSL Club, being on there as a sponsor, it’s actually shown what we can do and what we’re about,” shares Gordon Brian, Vice-President of Campsie RSL Group, who sponsored six episodes for the charities the club supports in 2024.
Others at the event shared how partnering with Helping Hands had also equipped them to tell their story effectively across all the platforms where they want to reach and engage with both their existing and new audiences.
Helping Hands also has the privilege of regularly working with expert panellists for each episode’s discussions of important current social topics. Professionals in their various fields, Helping Hands panellists constantly bring wise thought and guidance to every topic the show addresses, inspiring the Helping Hands audience to confidently face any challenge.
At the 100th episode celebration, panellists from the show expressed how important it is for Helping Hands to bring an informative, empowering and uplifting voice through its panel discussions to topics that can often be bogged down in negativity by the media.
“Every time I speak on a panel,” says regular panellist and psychologist, Collett Smart, “I get to chat with people who are these thinkers. What I love so much is how hopeful the program is.”
“This has been a wonderful night,” concludes Richard as he reminisces on the first 100 episodes of Helping Hands. “I cannot wait to see the impact we’re going to make going into our 200th episode of Helping Hands!”
